Last night, Dr. True gave the first lecture of a five part series on Anti-Aging: how losing weight can help you live healthier and longer. The concept of anti-aging is there are actions that we all can do to decrease the risks of developing degenerative medical problems that can make us age prematurely. One major problem that many of us can overcome is being overweight.
The prevalence of obesity has been rising rapidly in the United States and around the world. This is creating an increased burden on healthcare needs and costs due to the many medical complications that can occur due to being overweight. These include an increase in diabetes, stroke, heart disease, Alzheimer’s disease, arthritis, orthopedic problems and cancers.
Obesity is now considered the leading cause of cancer in the U.S. One of the biggest concerns is cancer of the breast, which is increased by a third due to being overweight. The American Cancer Society has stated that a third of all cancers can be prevented simply by lifestyle changes, including stopping smoking, losing weight, exercising and eating correctly.
Dr. True discussed his methods for losing weight, specifically The True Diet. Dr. True devised his diet plans with an emphasis on quick weight loss to get people motivated to losing weight. Each program is individually designed according to the patient’s needs. Added to them are aids to burn the fat and help curb the appetite so one can feel fine while losing the weight. Lifestyle changes are very important and these must be done while doing the diet programs to achieve long lasting success.
His first weight loss plan is the HCG True Diet. It utilizes HCG, the pregnancy hormone, to help change one’s metabolism in conjunction with an updated healthy very low calorie diet. The concept is simple: with HCG on board, the body “thinks” it’s pregnant and when faced with a very low calorie diet, the natural response is to pull calories from fat to preserve the baby. But, since no baby is present, the dieter feels fine, loses the appetite and loses the weight as the fat is burned.
The second program is for people who want to lose 15 to 20 pounds and is called the True Fit For Life program. It also involves a nutritious very low calorie diet but he uses appetite suppressants to help curb the appetite and allow the person to feel fine while burning the calories. The medication dose is decreased while the food intake is increased in a prescribed manner which is medically supervised.
To help burn the fat, LipoShots and other proven nutritional aids are recommended. LipoShots are a combination of certain vitamins and amino acids which force the metabolism of fat to be burned, resulting in a burst of energy while losing the weight. In fact, Dr. True stated that these LipoShots are also called “energy shots” because they give one a burst of energy after receiving them.
There are also contributing factors that induce people to become overweight. These include food allergies and hypersensitivities, such as gluten and milk sensitivities. Stress and emotional eating in addition to adrenal fatigue can also contribute compounding factors. These and others were discussed and their treatments are addressed with The True Diet.
Along with medical supervision of his diets, Dr. True has incorporated lifestyle changes that must be maintained in order to do his diet programs. These include simple actions, such as weighing yourself daily, writing a simple food journal, a quick and easy exercise program, and more. If one embraces these during the diet programs and perhaps repeats them until the required weight is off, perhaps they can become habits that can help them keep the weight off permanently.
To reduce one’s weight to a normal weight is considered and anti-aging action. Maintaining a normal weight can help reduce the risk of developing heart disease, diabetes, cancers, Alzheimer’s and many other medical problems that can shorten one’s lifespan.
